The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 8th match minute, Chacota FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Abel Benino to maneuver through the defense. In the 9th minute of the match Luciano Suarez sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jairo Baudelio skillfully saved the ball. Jairo Baudelio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Casimiro Argina in the 24th minute of play. Jairo Baudelio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Casimiro Argina, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Saturnino Cuarto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Casimiro Argina struck a weak shot in the 37th minute. With a little luck, Chuchiras's Nicanor Urbes got control of the ball when Saturnino Cuarto tried to sneak it across the goal line. After the first half Chuchiras were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Casimiro Argina to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Casimiro Argina in the 51st minute of play forced Chacota FC's goalkeeper Jairo Baudelio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Godofredo Orlo hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Chacota FC's zone, Casimiro Dabi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jairo Baudelio came out of the goal and Casimiro Dabi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Casimiro Dabi got free with Jairo Baudelio in the 95th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The Chuchiras supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Chuchiras would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
