Cayetano Osmundo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Diego Miro having to interfere. Jonatan Miro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Diego Miro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Independiente booed when Gambrinus City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. German Leizarraga didn't get a good kick on the ball. Diego Miro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Damian Deunoro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gambrinus City's Pablo Pelagius got a good chance for a goal in the 26th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 29th match minute, Gambrinus City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by German Basajaun to maneuver through the defense. Cayetano Osmundo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Damian Deunoro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Orlando Santio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Diego Miro having to interfere. When Damian Deunoro came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the Independiente fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Damian Deunoro couldn't finish the play. Cayetano Osmundos short, quick shot in the 42ndth minute got Diego Miro to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Gambrinus City's Diego Miro proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 47th minute of the match, managed to save Gambrinus City from getting a goal against them.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Damian Deunoro in the 51st minute of play forced Gambrinus City's goalkeeper Diego Miro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cayetano Osmundo in the 53rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Diego Miro saved Gambrinus City from getting behind. After a defensive mix-up in Independiente's zone, Pablo Pelagius stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ciro Cresenciano came out of the goal and Pablo Pelagius tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ciro Cresenciano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Braulio Gervaso, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. Pablo Pelagius recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 68th minute, Pablo Pelagius managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gambrinus City's supporters rose to their feet, but Pablo Pelagius was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ciro Cresenciano breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 75th minute the ball was on its way in behind Independiente's goalkeeper Ciro Cresenciano, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Baldomero Selatse fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ciro Cresenciano having to interfere. Pablo Pelagius recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Pablo Pelagius got free with Ciro Cresenciano in the 82nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The audience was convinced that Braulio Gervaso's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ciro Cresenciano was relentless in the 88th minute of the game. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cayetano Osmundo in the 95th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Diego Miro saved Gambrinus City from getting behind. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
