A very good chance. An unexpected shot in the 11th minute by Braulio Louis got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Ruperto Cuarto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lucas Peter, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. The supporters of gimnasia y esgrima LP booed when Escobar was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Godfredo Aznar didn't get a good kick on the ball. 20 minutes into the game, Leopoldo Jorrin was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. gimnasia y esgrima LP's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Escobar the free kick. In the 29th minute Maximino Oroitz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ruperto Cuarto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. gimnasia y esgrima LP's Braulio Louis came free and shot a quick shot against goal 30 minutes in the game, fortunately Robustiano Sustrai had problems saving as it came toward the left post. Through an outstanding action, after 32 minutes, Robustiano Sustrai successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Lucas Peter fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ruperto Cuarto having to interfere. Lucas Peter sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience was convinced that Maximino Oroitz's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ruperto Cuarto was relentless in the 40th minute of the game. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Maximino Oroitz stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Maximino Oroitz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ruperto Cuarto having to interfere. With his leg Ruperto Cuarto managed to avoid a goal in the 58thth minute, when Escobar's Lucas Peter fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Maximino Oroitz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Lucas Peter received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Ruperto Cuarto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alfonso Emmanuel scored 3-1 in the 71st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Robustiano Sustrai, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lucas Peter got free with Ruperto Cuarto in the 75th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Escobar's Lucas Peter got a good chance for a goal in the 76th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 88th minute, Maximino Oroitz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Escobar's supporters rose to their feet, but Maximino Oroitz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ruperto Cuarto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Maximino Oroitz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Robustiano Sustrai showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alfonso Emmanuel, who was totally free with the ball in the 97th minute. Many of Escobar's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Escobar may have spent more time on the ball, but gimnasia y esgrima LP were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
