Braulio Louis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nunez Alonso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alfonso Emmanuel, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Aldo Piearres to make the kick off. If Bernardino Mitxel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With an all-out effort, gimnasia y esgrima LP's Nunez Alonso threw himself towards the right post 72 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Alfonso Emmanuel, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 78 minutes into the match, gimnasia y esgrima LP's goal looked a bit too open when Lázaro Pagomari came free, but Ruperto Cuarto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 93 played minutes VICIOS got a freekick which was hit by Anselmo Unai. After 97 minutes, Bernardino Mitxel mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the VICIOS and the gimnasia y esgrima LP players grew even worse after the yellow card. The gimnasia y esgrima LP players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
