After a defensive mix-up in Tapias's zone, Marciano Rocio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Adan Venceslao came out of the goal and Marciano Rocio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee gave Tapias a penalty, 11 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by German Isias, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Cangrejilla FC's Narciso Shepherd. 0-1. A collision led to Tapias getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Teofilo Bibiano hit a great ball. Juan Jusepe, 14 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. If Luis Edorta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 17th minute, Federico Quintyn got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Luis Edorta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Tapias's Adan Venceslao proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 20th minute of the match, managed to save Tapias from getting a goal against them. If Luis Edorta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 25 minutes into the game, Federico Quintyn was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cangrejilla FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Tapias the free kick. Federico Quintyn hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. Narciso Shepherd came out of the goal and Diego Ourente tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Edgardo Jakue during the 29th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Tapias getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Edgardo Jakue hit a great ball. Luis Edorta could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 30th minute of the match, but Adan Venceslao made a huge save. Tapias's Adan Venceslao proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 41st minute of the match, managed to save Tapias from getting a goal against them. Cangrejilla FC's Luis Edorta got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Luis Edorta was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 48th minute. Cangrejilla FC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Freddy Kepa was the one to do the kick off. If Luis Edorta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 60th minute Freddy Kepa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Narciso Shepherd saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luis Edorta blasted a shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Adan Venceslao having to make a save. Diego Ourente might have been able to make a better finish in the 79th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Narciso Shepherd. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Diego Ourente ran back to his position shaking his head. Adan Venceslao showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luis Edorta, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Diego Ourente got free with Narciso Shepherd in the 93rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
