Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Carolo Johans in the 10th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Niceto Reno prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Jesus Ibañez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jesus Ibañez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alfredo Estebe having to interfere. 16 minutes into the match, Lugano FC's goalkeeper Niceto Reno had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Guaberto Sazon. Feliberto Elorri sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 21st minute, Jesus Ibañez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Godofredo Louis kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, Guaberto Sazon managed to get in a good position for a shot. Covadonga's supporters rose to their feet, but Guaberto Sazon was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Niceto Reno breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Niceto Reno came out and tried to block the shot, but Carolo Johans slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 27th minute. 34 minutes into the match, Covadonga's goal looked a bit too open when Godofredo Louis came free, but Alfredo Estebe reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Covadonga's Cayetano Bidari managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Leandro Rosario in the 39 minute of the game. Niceto Reno didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Carolo Johans went, in the 45th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Feliberto Elorri made a kick off. Covadonga's Alfredo Estebe proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 52nd minute of the match, managed to save Covadonga from getting a goal against them. Niceto Reno didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Covadonga. Carolo Johans sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 82 played minutes Lugano FC got a freekick which was hit by Jesus Ibañez. A collision led to Covadonga getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Saul Jusepe hit a great ball. Jesus Ibañez could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 94th minute of the match, but Alfredo Estebe made a huge save. Jesus Ibañez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Covadonga walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
