Covadonga's supporters crossed their fingers, but Guaberto Sazon was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 9 minutes into the match, Avellaneda F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Carolo Johans came free, but Paulo Gaufred reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carolo Johans in the 12th minute of play forced Avellaneda F.C.'s goalkeeper Paulo Gaufred to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Carolo Johans received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Paulo Gaufred tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tomás Quintin could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 25th minute of the match, but Alfredo Estebe made a huge save. Guaberto Sazon recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 27th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 29th minute Carolo Johans shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulo Gaufred saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Paulo Gaufred made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carolo Johans in the 31st minute of play. When Cosme Quinito fell near the penalty area in the 31st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Avellaneda F.C.'s protests and gave Cosme Quinito a yellow card for diving instead. Covadonga made a substitution. Nereo Bastian replaced Saul Jusepe. Paulo Gaufred made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carolo Johans in the 34th minute of play. In the 39th minute, Carolo Johans left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Covadonga fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Guaberto Sazon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paulo Gaufred having to interfere. If Guaberto Sazon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Covadonga's Cayetano Bidari couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 58th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Avellaneda F.C.. Guaberto Sazon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Carolo Johans received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. The supporters of Covadonga booed when Avellaneda F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tomás Quintin didn't get a good kick on the ball. Covadonga's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
