Luis Txurio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Osvaldo Lehen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nereo Ponciano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cornelio Amaya in the 17th minute of the match. Salvador Llorienzo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nereo Ponciano having to interfere. The supporters of Nimbus 2000 booed when Los Paqueros was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Flavio Pinto didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nereo Ponciano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Salvador Llorienzo in the 23rd minute of play. Salvador Llorienzo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When Orlando Irrintzi fell near the penalty area in the 33rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Los Paqueros's protests and gave Orlando Irrintzi a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Los Paqueros getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Orlando Irrintzi hit a great ball. In the 34th minute, Salvador Llorienzo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Nimbus 2000's Salvador Llorienzo got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Cornelio Amaya had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nereo Ponciano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Salvador Llorienzo, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. After the first half Nimbus 2000 were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Cornelio Amaya made a kick off. 54 minutes into the match, Nimbus 2000's Salvador Llorienzo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Nereo Ponciano narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 56th minute, one of Nimbus 2000:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Nimbus 2000. In the 59th minute there was a penalty for Los Paqueros. Conrado Santxol stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Osvaldo Lehen. 1-1. With a little luck, Los Paqueros's Nereo Ponciano got control of the ball when Salvador Llorienzo tried to sneak it across the goal line. The tension between the Nimbus 2000 and the Los Paqueros players grew even worse after the yellow card. Cornelio Amaya hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. Los Paqueros's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Albino Silban ran over to the corner to take the kick. After having played for 97 minutes, Aaron Bartoli managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Los Paqueros's supporters crossed their fingers, but Aaron Bartoli was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
