Honorio Guillerme hit a great ball. Romulo Cordearo was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 25th minute. Córdoba's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. If Ivan Onofre had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 29th minute, Romulo Cordearo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Erasmo Miro during the 34th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Erasmo Miro hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. Justino Bibiano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ivan Onofre, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Romulo Cordearo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 45th minute of the match, but Justino Bibiano made a huge save. Romulo Cordearo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Justino Bibiano having to interfere. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Nicolas Santiago was the one to do the kick off.
