The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Eulalio Ihazintu helped the player get up and apologised. In the 2nd minute, Eulalio Ihazintu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Alfredo Beliran hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. In the 7th minute of the match, Pedro Katia got a very nice opportunity to score, but Filomeno Mitxaut was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Donato Martxot took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Benigno Mouricio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 20 minutes into the match, Azopardo's goalkeeper Filomeno Mitxaut had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Evelio Barrionuevo. Pilcomayo's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Cesar Manuelo in the 22nd minute. Pilcomayo's Amador Ralondo was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Filomeno Mitxaut in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Donato Martxot showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ermegildo Piearres in the 28th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Azopardo's zone, Astor Eguntsenti stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Filomeno Mitxaut came out of the goal and Astor Eguntsenti tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Eulalio Ihazintu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Filomeno Mitxaut tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Astor Eguntsenti made a kick off. Honorato Perico's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Donato Martxot read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 52nd minute of play. Azopardo's Ermegildo Piearres got a good chance for a goal in the 55th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Evelio Barrionuevo in the 59th minute of play forced Azopardo's goalkeeper Filomeno Mitxaut to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Filomeno Mitxaut made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Astor Eguntsenti in the 61st minute of play. After having played for 66 minutes, Eulalio Ihazintu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pilcomayo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eulalio Ihazintu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Astor Eguntsenti fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Filomeno Mitxaut having to interfere. Filomeno Mitxaut came out of the goal in the 74th minute to try and stop a shot by Pilcomayo's Evelio Barrionuevo. But to his dismay, Evelio Barrionuevo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. If Astor Eguntsenti had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
