An unexpectedly hard shot by Donato Urbasa in the 20th minute of play forced Aston Wilde FC's goalkeeper Erasmo Franco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After taking down the ball on San Martín de Tucumán's corner Salvador Oliviero fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Erasmo Franco quite easily take care of the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Garikoitz Oraa in the 25th minute a chance for a shot on goal. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Casimiro Tano showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After 31 played minutes San Martín de Tucumán got a freekick which was hit by Emilio Gentza. Herminio Kelemen recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. San Martín de Tucumán's Casimiro Tano proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 40th minute of the match, managed to save San Martín de Tucumán from getting a goal against them. Aston Wilde FC's Maximino Beltran got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

In the 55th minute of the match, Lucas Abreu tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Erasmo Franco saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Maximino Beltran received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Casimiro Tano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
