The ball went over the crossbar instead. Apolo Galeno recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 13th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 14th minute, Justino Luken got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 15 minutes into the match, EQF's Apolo Galeno sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jacinto Macario narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The supporters of EQF booed when Monteverde was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Severo Luzaide didn't get a good kick on the ball. EQF's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Monteverde the free kick. After 46 played minutes EQF got a freekick which was hit by Camilo Ritchie. Florentino Katia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 49th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Teo Atarratze having to interfere. The EQF players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Monteverde were winning 0-3.
