The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Ezequiel Telmo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Danilo Cucao in the 7th minute of the match. Ermegildo Aragones hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. Abel Aznar kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. Elias Javiero hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. El Riquito's Danilo Cucao got a good chance for a goal in the 31st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in C.A. PICHULEUFU's zone, Anibal Oto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ezequiel Telmo came out of the goal and Anibal Oto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 36 played minutes C.A. PICHULEUFU got a freekick which was hit by Elias Javiero. Anibal Oto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Ezequiel Telmo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 46 minutes into the match, Danilo Cucao had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ezequiel Telmo. C.A. PICHULEUFU's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Danilo Cucao was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Cipriano Blasi made a kick off. Ezequiel Telmo came out of the goal in the 52nd minute to try and stop a shot by El Riquito's Anibal Oto. But to his dismay, Anibal Oto quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Arnulfo Lehoi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pastor Gorosti having to interfere. Pastor Gorosti made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cipriano Blasi in the 58th minute of play. An unexpected shot in the 63rd minute by Danilo Cucao got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. 69 minutes into the match, C.A. PICHULEUFU's Cipriano Blasi sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Pastor Gorosti narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 70 minutes into the game, Cipriano Blasi cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Pastor Gorosti was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Pastor Gorosti showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arnulfo Lehoi, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. El Riquito's Danilo Cucao got a good chance for a goal in the 84th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Arnulfo Lehoi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The C.A. PICHULEUFU supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching El Riquito's performance. The match ended with a win for El Riquito.
