Delmar Abel's late challenge caught a Nueva Pretoria's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Delmar Abel helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Nueva Pretoria booed when Santillán was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. In the 45th minute Martin Chucho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Guillermo Ramond saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Santillán defense, Luciano Gutierrez kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Reynaldo Rocio. The Santillán fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Reynaldo Rocio should have stopped the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 71st minute, Luciano Gutierrez managed to get in a good position for a shot. Nueva Pretoria's supporters rose to their feet, but Luciano Gutierrez was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Reynaldo Rocio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Omar Vergaray had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Roberto Jago received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Guillermo Ramond tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Guillermo Ramond showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Martin Chucho in the 82nd minute of the match. Luciano Gutierrez could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 91st minute of the match, but Reynaldo Rocio made a huge save. Luciano Gutierrez blasted a shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Reynaldo Rocio having to make a save. Nueva Pretoria played a much better game than Santillán and deserved their victory. The Santillán players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
