Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Ezequiel Frasco started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. When Niceto Evarado fell near the penalty area in the 4th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Los Chacales's protests and gave Niceto Evarado a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of RIVER booed when Los Chacales was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Niceto Evarado didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nicanor Bela sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nicanor Bela in the 16th minute of play forced RIVER's goalkeeper Celso Gizon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Nicanor Bela came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the Los Chacales fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nicanor Bela couldn't finish the play. Justino Montes didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ezequiel Frasco went, in the 24th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. After some fancy dribbling in the 28th minute, Cayetano Garaona managed to get in a good position for a shot. Los Chacales's supporters rose to their feet, but Cayetano Garaona was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Celso Gizon breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Roque Vela struck a weak shot in the 37th minute. Justino Montes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for RIVER. After 38 played minutes Los Chacales got a freekick which was hit by Federico Quin. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ubaldo Alfonso in the 40th minute of play forced Los Chacales's goalkeeper Justino Montes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Justino Montes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ubaldo Alfonso in the 42nd minute of the match. Santo Manny kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. A long shot from Gaspar Enaut in the 45th minute of play was well struck, but Celso Gizon made a really good save at the right post. If Nicanor Bela had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Nicanor Bela made a kick off. Justino Montes came out of the goal in the 54th minute to try and stop a shot by RIVER's Ubaldo Alfonso. But to his dismay, Ubaldo Alfonso quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. After a rather tough play, RIVER's Elias Sotero got a free kick in the 57th minute. If Ubaldo Alfonso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Celso Gizon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nicanor Bela in the 67th minute of the match. 72 minutes into the match, RIVER's Ezequiel Frasco sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Justino Montes narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Celso Gizon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cayetano Garaona in the 75th minute of play. Ezequiel Frasco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Justino Montes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ubaldo Alfonso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 92nd minute, Roque Vela ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Justino Montes was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. RIVER had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
