Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Marcelo Ascencio kicked off to start the match. Pastor Llorienzo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Celso Gizon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 7th minute, Victor Galeno fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. After a rather tough play, SS Español's German Nastasio got a free kick in the 9th minute. Ubaldo Alfonso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Javier Marz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Javier Marz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ubaldo Alfonso in the 13th minute of play. A collision led to RIVER getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Ubaldo Alfonso hit a great ball. 18 minutes into the match, SS Español's Marcelo Ascencio sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Celso Gizon narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 23rd minute, Ciro Xabier hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 34th minute, Ezequiel Frasco left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The RIVER fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. After some fancy dribbling in the 38th minute, Marcelo Ascencio managed to get in a good position for a shot. SS Español's supporters rose to their feet, but Marcelo Ascencio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Celso Gizon breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Victor Galeno received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Celso Gizon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ezequiel Frasco made a kick off. 52 minutes into the match, SS Español's goalkeeper Javier Marz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ubaldo Alfonso. Ubaldo Alfonso came free with the goalkeeper in the 55th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Javier Marz could save by the left post. Victor Galeno fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Celso Gizon having to interfere. Marcelo Ascencio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Celso Gizon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. SS Español's Ciro Xabier got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 76 minutes into the match, RIVER's goal looked a bit too open when Victor Galeno came free, but Celso Gizon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Pastor Llorienzo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Victor Galeno in the 80th minute of play forced RIVER's goalkeeper Celso Gizon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. RIVER's Celso Gizon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Victor Galeno in the 84th minute of play. Pastor Llorienzo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Javier Marz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ezequiel Frasco in the 87th minute of play. 90 minutes into the match, Victor Galeno notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of RIVER's Celso Gizon. Celso Gizon was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Pastor Llorienzo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. RIVER were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over SS Español's much stronger midfield.
