Spectators: 7199 (Terracing: 5401, Seating: 1655, VIP seats: 143) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Nicolas Ellande started the match with the kick off. When Iker Miro fell near the penalty area in the 3rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Frente de Izquierda's protests and gave Iker Miro a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Esquina booed when Frente de Izquierda was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Iker Miro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Esquina's Angel Porfirio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fernan Quinteros in the 9th minute of play. If Fernan Quinteros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Fernan Quinteros fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Angel Porfirio having to interfere. Frente de Izquierda's Fernan Quinteros got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 27th minute of the match Jorge Bilintx sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Angel Porfirio skillfully saved the ball. After 28 played minutes Esquina got a freekick which was hit by Urbano Adrio. Frente de Izquierda's Fernan Quinteros got a good chance for a goal in the 29th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nicolas Ellande in the 31st minute of play forced Frente de Izquierda's goalkeeper Everardo Galo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fernan Quinteros fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Angel Porfirio having to interfere. In a very dangerous position, a player in Esquina fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 40th minute. Penalty! Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Fernan Quinteros stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpected shot in the 55th minute by Romeo Franco got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Angel Porfirio made a fantastic save in the 55th minute, when Romeo Franco sent off a good shot on target. In the 57th minute of the match Frente de Izquierda got a corner. Esquina's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Bernardino Celino ran over to the corner to take the kick. After 64 minutes, Tadeo Jon mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Esquina and the Frente de Izquierda players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 63 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Esquina! In the 68th minute, one of Frente de Izquierda:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Frente de Izquierda. Frente de Izquierda:s Everardo Galo showed great skill when he stopped Tadeo Jon:s penalty. 70 minutes into the game, Esquina's Tadeo Jon nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Everardo Galo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. Aureliano Mogel might have been able to make a better finish in the 76th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Everardo Galo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Aureliano Mogel ran back to his position shaking his head. After having played for 78 minutes, Matias Espiridion managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Esquina's supporters crossed their fingers, but Matias Espiridion was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Fernan Quinteros received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Angel Porfirio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 85th minute, Fernan Quinteros managed to get in a good position for a shot. Frente de Izquierda's supporters rose to their feet, but Fernan Quinteros was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Angel Porfirio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Esquina's Angel Porfirio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fernan Quinteros in the 87th minute of play. Romeo Franco's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Angel Porfirio read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 91st minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Frente de Izquierda's zone, Aureliano Mogel stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Everardo Galo came out of the goal and Aureliano Mogel tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The Frente de Izquierda supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Frente de Izquierda would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
