Angelino Bartoli took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rogelio Valerio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Niceto Bizen didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Pascual Leoiar went, in the 13th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. In the 20th minute the ball was on its way in behind Newells FC's goalkeeper Angelino Bartoli, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Rogelio Valerio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Inocencio Maura came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the CSyD Charrillos fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Inocencio Maura couldn't finish the play. In the 26th minute Inocencio Maura shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Angelino Bartoli saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 27 played minutes Newells FC got a freekick which was hit by Carlos Cruz. Rogelio Valerio struck a weak shot in the 29th minute. Angelino Bartoli didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for CSyD Charrillos. The long shot by Conrado Enekoitz in the 32nd minute really tested Niceto Bizen's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. When Humberto Atarratze came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the Newells FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Humberto Atarratze couldn't finish the play. After 45 minutes, Melquiades Oto mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the CSyD Charrillos and the Newells FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 45th match minute, CSyD Charrillos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Melquiades Oto to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 46 minutes, Eloy Benvide managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Newells FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eloy Benvide was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Humberto Atarratze received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Niceto Bizen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Humberto Atarratze to make the kick off. In the 57th match minute, Newells FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Serafino Valentine to maneuver through the defense. If Rogelio Valerio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Inocencio Maura could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 62nd minute of the match, but Angelino Bartoli made a huge save. Newells FC were furious when Conrado Enekoitz was red carded, 63 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In the 63rd minute, one of Newells FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Newells FC. The referee gave CSyD Charrillos a penalty, 66 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Aristides Criston, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Newells FC's Angelino Bartoli. 1-2. CSyD Charrillos's Inocencio Maura got a good chance for a goal in the 74th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 76th minute Rogelio Valerio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Angelino Bartoli saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Newells FC booed when CSyD Charrillos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eleuterio Igon didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 80th minute the ball was on its way in behind CSyD Charrillos's goalkeeper Niceto Bizen, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Pascual Leoiar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Niceto Bizen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Newells FC's Angelino Bartoli played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rogelio Valerio in the 88th minute of play. Rogelio Valerio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. Angelino Bartoli tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Angelino Bartoli made a fantastic save in the 99th minute, when Inocencio Maura sent off a good shot on target.
