Spectators: 7198 (Terracing: 5400, Seating: 1655, VIP seats: 143) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. After 18 played minutes San Lorenzo got a freekick which was hit by Fabio Galsino. Raimundo Natal took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 19th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Gerardo Rubio. San Lorenzo's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Gerardo Rubio came out of the goal in the 20th minute to try and stop a shot by A Fire Inside's Guillermo Ado. But to his dismay, Guillermo Ado quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. After 22 played minutes A Fire Inside got a freekick which was hit by Cristobal Munio. 26 minutes into the match, A Fire Inside's goal looked a bit too open when Angelino Soter came free, but Enrique Austin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 27th minute, Humberto Haritzeder hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Angelino Soter fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Enrique Austin having to interfere. In the 37th minute, Salvador Lizer left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The San Lorenzo fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. After having played for 41 minutes, Salvador Lizer managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. San Lorenzo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Salvador Lizer was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 44th match minute, A Fire Inside was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hipolito Jeraldo to maneuver through the defense. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-1.

Gerardo Rubio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Guillermo Ado in the 51st minute of play. Guillermo Ado received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Gerardo Rubio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Angelino Soter fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Enrique Austin having to interfere. Through an outstanding action, after 69 minutes, Gerardo Rubio successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. The audience was convinced that Salvador Lizer's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Enrique Austin was relentless in the 73rd minute of the game. 76 minutes into the match, A Fire Inside's goal looked a bit too open when Angelino Soter came free, but Enrique Austin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nestor Casomiro's late challenge caught a A Fire Inside's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nestor Casomiro helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to San Lorenzo getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Nestor Casomiro hit a great ball. 89 minutes into the game, Angelino Soter was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. San Lorenzo's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave A Fire Inside the free kick. Angelino Soter kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. San Lorenzo's Gerardo Rubio proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 92nd minute of the match, managed to save San Lorenzo from getting a goal against them. In the 94th minute Alejandro Tajo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Enrique Austin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fulgencio Domenec fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gerardo Rubio having to interfere. A Fire Inside's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
