The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Celso Donostia kicked well hit freekick during the 3rd minute of the match. When the match had gone on for 5 minutes, Victoriano Gines put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Baldomero Indar. 9 minutes into the match, Caballeros de la Angustia's Victoriano Gines sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Baldomero Indar narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Caballeros de la Angustia's Ceferino Darien proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 14th minute of the match, managed to save Caballeros de la Angustia from getting a goal against them. In the 18th match minute, Caballeros de la Angustia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Victor Marquez to maneuver through the defense. Alvaro Lohitzun was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 19th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Baldomero Indar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Albano Nataniel, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. After a defensive mix-up in Douglas Haig's zone, Victoriano Gines stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Baldomero Indar came out of the goal and Victoriano Gines tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Albano Nataniel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Celso Donostia during the 33rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 34 played minutes Douglas Haig got a freekick which was hit by Celso Donostia. Victoriano Gines sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Baldomero Indar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Victoriano Gines, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 39 played minutes Douglas Haig got a freekick which was hit by Teofilo Natal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Victoriano Gines in the 45th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Baldomero Indar saved Douglas Haig from getting behind. After a defensive mix-up in Douglas Haig's zone, Leandro Havier stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Baldomero Indar came out of the goal and Leandro Havier tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Victoriano Gines to strike the kick off in the second half. Victoriano Gines received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Baldomero Indar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Victoriano Gines who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 60thth minute tested the skills of Baldomero Indar when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Ceferino Darien showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Herminio Refugio, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. After 64 played minutes Caballeros de la Angustia got a freekick which was hit by Isaias Hermelando. Ceferino Darien took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Celso Donostia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Victoriano Gines got free with Baldomero Indar in the 74th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Victoriano Gines's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Baldomero Indar read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 87th minute of play. 87 minutes into the game, Victoriano Gines recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Baldomero Indar. Victoriano Gines showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-2. When Victoriano Gines came up free with the goalie in the 92nd minute, the Caballeros de la Angustia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Victoriano Gines couldn't finish the play. Caballeros de la Angustia's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
