The referee ignored Honguito FC's protests and gave Alejo Feliz a yellow card for diving instead. The audience was convinced that David Montez's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ceferino Darien was relentless in the 20th minute of the game. 25 minutes into the game, Victoriano Gines was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Caballeros de la Angustia's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Honguito FC the free kick. The supporters of Honguito FC booed when Caballeros de la Angustia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Victoriano Gines didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 30 minutes, Victoriano Gines managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Caballeros de la Angustia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Victoriano Gines was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Eugenio Atauri to make the kick off. Amado Cordaryal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Albano Nataniel in the 54th minute of the match. After 55 played minutes Honguito FC got a freekick which was hit by Severiano Raymond. With a little luck, Caballeros de la Angustia's Ceferino Darien got control of the ball when David Montez tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Eugenio Atauri had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Victoriano Gines fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Amado Cordaryal having to interfere. David Montez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 67th minute, Leandro Havier hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Caballeros de la Angustia fans cheered their team off the field, for while Honguito FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
