When the match had been going on for 21 minutes, Hipatía's Silvestre Hori got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Santo Toribio. When Emiliano Marko fell near the penalty area in the 23rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ñacuñán FC's protests and gave Emiliano Marko a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Ñacuñán FC getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Emiliano Marko hit a great ball. In the 25th minute, Bonifacio Gartzea got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Hipatía's Cosme Gaizkine got a good chance for a goal in the 29th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ñacuñán FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pedro Rayman was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Jose Euloxu fell near the penalty area in the 33rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ñacuñán FC's protests and gave Jose Euloxu a yellow card for diving instead. In the 34th minute, Maximiliano Ponc hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 38 minutes into the match, Hipatía's goal looked a bit too open when Pedro Rayman came free, but Eleuterio Umea reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Adolfo Chayo's late challenge caught a Ñacuñán FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ñacuñán FC's Pedro Rayman managed to work through Hipatía's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. In the 51st minute, Hipatía's Maximiliano Ponc dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Maximiliano Ponc stepped up to make the kick off in the second half.
