In the 44th minute, Rodrigo Silbestre got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Damian Matai fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pablo Maureo having to interfere. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

When Victorio Ubarna came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the Espirillos AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Victorio Ubarna couldn't finish the play. Pablo Maureo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Damian Matai in the 91st minute of the match. In the 92nd minute Damian Matai shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pablo Maureo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 93 minutes of play Espirillos AFC's Adolfo Flores was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Peñarol de La Mosca AC's Rodrigo Silbestre got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Espirillos AFC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
