Petronila AFC's Gustavo Furman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jeronimo Sein in the 21st minute of play. Celso Telo struck a weak shot in the 28th minute. Gustavo Furman didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Monteverde. After a defensive mix-up in Petronila AFC's zone, Gustavo Juvenal stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gustavo Furman came out of the goal and Gustavo Juvenal tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 36 minutes into the match, Petronila AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Celso Telo came free, but Gustavo Furman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match had gone on for 64 minutes, Jeronimo Sein put it in 2-0 from a short distance just to the right of Gustavo Furman. In the 72nd minute Leonel Cugat shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cesar Quinto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Monteverde fans cheered their team off the field, for while Petronila AFC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
