Baltasar Bernaldo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Prospero Lucado, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 11 minutes into the match, Instituto's goal looked a bit too open when Leandro Mambru came free, but Baltasar Bernaldo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. GF Cachengue were awarded a corner in the 13th minute after Instituto's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Prospero Lucado took the corner. It was a well-played corner which Romeo Estefan managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. 14 minutes into the match, GF Cachengue's Leandro Mambru sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Baltasar Bernaldo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Eustacio Manny kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. After 24 played minutes Instituto got a freekick which was hit by Eustacio Manny. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leandro Mambru in the 26th minute of play forced Instituto's goalkeeper Baltasar Bernaldo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Prospero Lucado could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 31st minute of the match, but Baltasar Bernaldo made a huge save. Domingo Sagrario's late challenge caught a GF Cachengue's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Domingo Sagrario helped the player get up and apologised. When Romeo Estefan fell near the penalty area in the 43rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored GF Cachengue's protests and gave Romeo Estefan a yellow card for diving instead. Leandro Mambru sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Baltasar Bernaldo was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Leandro Mambru showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 48 minute of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Antonio Quintyn was the one to do the kick off. Leandro Mambru struck a weak shot in the 55th minute. Baltasar Bernaldo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for GF Cachengue. Prospero Lucado might have been able to make a better finish in the 57th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Baltasar Bernaldo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Prospero Lucado ran back to his position shaking his head. Antonio Quintyn hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. Instituto's Baltasar Bernaldo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leandro Mambru in the 61st minute of play. In the 66th minute Leandro Mambru shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Baltasar Bernaldo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Leandro Mambru's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Baltasar Bernaldo was relentless in the 69th minute of the game. When the referee ended the match the GF Cachengue players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
