Ascensión's Andres Pio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Benedicto Santxol in the 42nd minute of play. Aureliano Baladi's late challenge caught a Ascensión's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Aureliano Baladi helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Ninalquín getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Aureliano Baladi hit a great ball. Ascensión's Omar Maju got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ninalquín's Lino Ibañez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eriberto Laurin in the 65th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Prudencio Abella in the 67th minute of play forced Ninalquín's goalkeeper Lino Ibañez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lino Ibañez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Omar Maju, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match had gone on for 70 minutes, Omar Maju put it in 1-2 from a short distance just to the right of Lino Ibañez. Benigno Ugaitz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Andres Pio having to interfere. The referee gave Aureliano Baladi a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After a rather tough play, Ninalquín's Aureliano Baladi got a free kick in the 98th minute. The Ascensión supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Ninalquín's performance. The match ended with a win for Ninalquín.
