C.'s goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Humberto Furman in the 5th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rolando Cayo saved River F.C from getting behind. After a rather tough play, River F.C's Christian Quinteros got a free kick in the 6th minute. After a rather tough play, Don Fermin F. C.'s Ignacio Txordon got a free kick in the 10th minute. Dario Merexildo might have been able to make a better finish in the 13th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Pornsak Jareanpunpon. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dario Merexildo ran back to his position shaking his head. After having played for 14 minutes, Humberto Furman managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Don Fermin F. C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Humberto Furman was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Alvaro Gonsalvo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rolando Cayo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Humberto Furman, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. Pornsak Jareanpunpon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dario Merexildo in the 27th minute of the match. Alvaro Gonsalvo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Rolando Cayo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dario Merexildo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pornsak Jareanpunpon having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tobias Jakobe got free with Pornsak Jareanpunpon in the 34th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alvaro Gonsalvo in the 36th minute of play forced River F.C's goalkeeper Rolando Cayo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Humberto Furman came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the Don Fermin F. C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Humberto Furman couldn't finish the play. In the 40th minute Alvaro Gonsalvo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolando Cayo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alvaro Gonsalvo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 43rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Rolando Cayo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Humberto Furman in the 45th minute of play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Dario Merexildo was the one to do the kick off. When Humberto Furman came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the Don Fermin F. C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Humberto Furman couldn't finish the play. After 68 played minutes Don Fermin F. C. got a freekick which was hit by Alejandro Blasi. The supporters of River F.C booed when Don Fermin F. C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ignacio Txordon didn't get a good kick on the ball. 76 minutes into the match, River F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Humberto Furman came free, but Rolando Cayo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 78th minute, Humberto Furman fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Rolando Cayo, passed just outside the right post. In the 82nd minute Humberto Furman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolando Cayo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alvaro Gonsalvo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rolando Cayo having to interfere. After 84 played minutes River F.C got a freekick which was hit by Camilo Oton. After a defensive mix-up in River F.C's zone, Alvaro Gonsalvo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rolando Cayo came out of the goal and Alvaro Gonsalvo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Humberto Furman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Don Fermin F. C. players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
