An unexpected shot in the 33rd minute by Generoso Bibiano got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Octavio Egoitz kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. In the 37th minute Orlando Maraman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rodolfo Jerico saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dr. Melo's Damian Ekialde got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.
