Carmelo Ondino kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. Benja y Mate's Mariano Urtungo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Orlando Maraman in the 7th minute of play. When Leopoldo Hermelando fell near the penalty area in the 15th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Dr. Melo's protests and gave Leopoldo Hermelando a yellow card for diving instead. In the 16th match minute, Dr. Melo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leopoldo Hermelando to maneuver through the defense. Oscar Perez recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 17th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpected shot in the 19th minute by Damian Ekialde got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Fernando Crescencio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Oscar Perez, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. In the 26th minute Isidoro Lia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fernando Crescencio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 29th minute, Isidoro Lia got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Fernando Crescencio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Oscar Perez, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. In the 38th minute, Javier Sabio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Oscar Perez in the 41st minute of play forced Dr. Melo's goalkeeper Fernando Crescencio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Benja y Mate's Mariano Urtungo got control of the ball when Damian Ekialde tried to sneak it across the goal line. Oscar Perez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fernando Crescencio having to interfere. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Oscar Perez was the one to do the kick off. Dr. Melo's Orlando Maraman got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Oscar Perez could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 60th minute of the match, but Fernando Crescencio made a huge save. After some fancy dribbling in the 62nd minute, Damian Ekialde managed to get in a good position for a shot. Dr. Melo's supporters rose to their feet, but Damian Ekialde was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mariano Urtungo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Oscar Perez recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Benja y Mate's Hilario Gaur got a free kick in the 68th minute. Orlando Maraman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mariano Urtungo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leopoldo Hermelando, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dr. Melo's Fernando Crescencio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Isidoro Lia in the 76th minute of play. The supporters of Benja y Mate booed when Dr. Melo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leopoldo Hermelando didn't get a good kick on the ball. Benja y Mate's Mariano Urtungo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leopoldo Hermelando in the 80th minute of play. Mariano Urtungo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Orlando Maraman in the 82nd minute of play. In the 84th minute of the match Maximino Bordat shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Mariano Urtungo showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Leonardo Rodriguez's late challenge caught a Dr. Melo's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Leonardo Rodriguez helped the player get up and apologised. Leonardo Rodriguez hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. After having played for 86 minutes, Damian Ekialde managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Dr. Melo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Damian Ekialde was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Leonardo Rodriguez succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 0-1 in the 89th playminute. The Benja y Mate supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Benja y Mate would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
