After 6 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Cañon del Atlas! 18 minutes into the match, Cañon del Atlas's Delmar Aztore sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Samuel Atauri narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Herminio Jordy fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Samuel Atauri having to interfere. When Andres Calvino came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the RIVER PLATE fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Andres Calvino couldn't finish the play. In the 29th match minute, Cañon del Atlas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Victorio Emesto to maneuver through the defense. A hard shot by Remigio Abastas from long distance, 35 minutes into the match, got Rosendo Txaran's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Andres Calvino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Rosendo Txaran tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Andres Calvino made a kick off. Herminio Jordy received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Samuel Atauri tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 59th minute, Herminio Jordy got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Delmar Aztore sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Filiberto Eliazar recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Delmar Aztore in the 68th minute of play forced RIVER PLATE's goalkeeper Samuel Atauri to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Samuel Atauri was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Delmar Aztore showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-1 in the 69 minute of play. When the match had gone on for 75 minutes, Delmar Aztore took a quick shot and it went in 2-2 without a chance for Samuel Atauri to make any attempt to save it. In the 79th minute Andres Calvino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rosendo Txaran saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 79 minutes, Robustiano Jacob mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cañon del Atlas and the RIVER PLATE players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Cañon del Atlas getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Robustiano Jacob hit a great ball. Rosendo Txaran made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Andres Calvino in the 81st minute of play. In the 82nd minute, Fausto Dolfo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rosendo Txaran showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Filiberto Eliazar, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. Andres Calvino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Herminio Jordy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Victorio Emesto struck a weak shot in the 96th minute. Samuel Atauri didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cañon del Atlas. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
