The jefyl jueves fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Eustaquio Froylan should have stopped the shot. After a defensive mix-up in jefyl jueves's zone, Oscar Perez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eustaquio Froylan came out of the goal and Oscar Perez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Leonardo Telmo was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 45 minutes into the match. In the 46th minute, Leonardo Telmo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Benja y Mate's zone, Jorge Lamberto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mariano Urtungo came out of the goal and Jorge Lamberto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

57 minutes into the match, Benja y Mate's goal looked a bit too open when Aquilino Fernandez came free, but Mariano Urtungo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mariano Urtungo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alfredo Iratzeder, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. Wilfredo Nazario received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Mariano Urtungo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Wilfredo Nazario came up free with the goalie in the 77th minute, the jefyl jueves fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Wilfredo Nazario couldn't finish the play. Oscar Perez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mariano Urtungo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wilfredo Nazario in the 82nd minute of the match. A collision led to Benja y Mate getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Hilario Gaur hit a great ball. In the 87th minute the ball was on its way in behind jefyl jueves's goalkeeper Eustaquio Froylan, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 90th minute Aquilino Fernandez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mariano Urtungo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match was over Benja y Mate could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than jefyl jueves throughout the match.
