Braulio Lopes was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 9th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Eduardo Estefan. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Braulio Lopes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience thought a goal was coming when Marcial Matthew got free with Braulio Lopes in the 34th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 36 minutes Jedamericano FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Eduardo Estefan who took care of the corner kick. Matancilla AFC's Eduardo Estefan was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Braulio Lopes in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. After some careless play in the Jedamericano FC defense, Marcial Matthew kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Braulio Lopes. The Jedamericano FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Braulio Lopes should have stopped the shot. When Israel Quirce fell near the penalty area in the 93rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Matancilla AFC's protests and gave Israel Quirce a yellow card for diving instead. In the 93rd minute, Israel Quirce hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
