But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luciano Bartoli couldn't finish the play. When the match had gone on for 23 minutes, Rigoberto Otsando put it in 1-2 from a short distance just to the right of Rolando Florian. 26 minutes into the game, Luciano Bartoli was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Pastillos AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Los Gordos FC the free kick. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rigoberto Otsando to make the kick off. A hard, long distance shot from Laureano Pepillo flew over the goal. The audience was convinced that Generoso Rami's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ivan Frutos was relentless in the 54th minute of the game. Guido Rio's late challenge caught a Pastillos AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Guido Rio helped the player get up and apologised. With a little luck, Los Gordos FC's Rolando Florian got control of the ball when Juan Cresencio tried to sneak it across the goal line. 73 minutes into the match, Generoso Rami had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ivan Frutos. Pastillos AFC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Generoso Rami was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. Generoso Rami might have been able to make a better finish in the 88th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ivan Frutos. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Generoso Rami ran back to his position shaking his head. Rolando Florian made an important save on a dangerous shot by Juan Cresencio in the 95th minute. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
