If Alvaro Policarpio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 23 minutes into the game, Alvaro Policarpio cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Aristides Feliu was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Alvaro Policarpio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aristides Feliu having to interfere. Danny Brotherton took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Florentino Eladio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Filomeno Cheche received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Danny Brotherton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 46 minutes, Edgardo Irrintzi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Chapanay FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edgardo Irrintzi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Filomeno Cheche made the kick off in the second half. The audience was convinced that Edgardo Irrintzi's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Aristides Feliu was relentless in the 54th minute of the game. In the 70thth minute of the game Edgardo Irrintzi who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Iriondo's Aristides Feliu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Aristides Feliu came out of the goal and Alvaro Policarpio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Aristides Feliu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edgardo Irrintzi in the 89th minute of play. Ernesto Cordarryl charged in rather forcefully in the 92nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ernesto Cordarryl the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 92nd match minute, Iriondo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ernesto Cordarryl to maneuver through the defense. For all the effort they put into the match, the Iriondo players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Chapanay FC.
