Elpidio Florinio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Victoriano Arlo, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. In the 13th minute, Enrique Peruxu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Angel Oton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Elpidio Florinio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Villa Pueyrredón FC's Enrique Peruxu got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Enrique Peruxu scored 0-2 in the 32nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Elpidio Florinio, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Moises Gau blasted a shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Elpidio Florinio having to make a save. Maciel's Elpidio Florinio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Angel Oton in the 38th minute of play. In the 42nd minute Juan Kimetz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Elpidio Florinio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Villa Pueyrredón FC getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Maximiliano Urko hit a great ball. After having played for 45 minutes, Edgardo Araoz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Maciel's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edgardo Araoz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a little luck, Villa Pueyrredón FC's Fabian Gaitan got control of the ball when Braulio Etxekopar tried to sneak it across the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Angel Oton stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, Villa Pueyrredón FC's Enrique Peruxu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Elpidio Florinio narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Fabian Gaitan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Braulio Etxekopar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Moises Gau was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 55th minute. Villa Pueyrredón FC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Braulio Etxekopar in the 60th minute of play forced Villa Pueyrredón FC's goalkeeper Fabian Gaitan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Angel Oton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Enrique Peruxu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Victoriano Arlo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elpidio Florinio having to interfere. The supporters of Villa Pueyrredón FC booed when Maciel was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Braulio Etxekopar didn't get a good kick on the ball. Enrique Peruxu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 76th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Victoriano Arlo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Maciel's zone, Enrique Peruxu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Elpidio Florinio came out of the goal and Enrique Peruxu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Severiano Colas during the 81st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 81 played minutes Maciel got a freekick which was hit by Severiano Colas. Villa Pueyrredón FC's Enrique Peruxu got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Angel Oton did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 0-4 to the left of a surprised Elpidio Florinio 89 minutes into the match. Elpidio Florinio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Moises Gau, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match was over Villa Pueyrredón FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Maciel throughout the match.
