In the 2nd minute Ezequiel Ciceron shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fidel Gonzales saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Viejas del Agua booed when FC Schalke 04 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Reynaldo Ferman didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristobal Eate in the 6th minute of play forced FC Schalke 04's goalkeeper Fidel Gonzales to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to FC Schalke 04 getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Reynaldo Ferman hit a great ball. Ezequiel Ciceron struck a weak shot in the 10th minute. Fidel Gonzales didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Viejas del Agua. Cristobal Eate blasted a shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Fidel Gonzales having to make a save. After 14 minutes, Ezequiel Ciceron made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. FC Schalke 04's Fidel Gonzales tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The audience was convinced that Ezequiel Ciceron's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Fidel Gonzales was relentless in the 19th minute of the game. After 23 played minutes FC Schalke 04 got a freekick which was hit by Cristobal Koldo. An unexpectedly hard shot by Celestino Viviano in the 26th minute of play forced Viejas del Agua's goalkeeper Santo Eudoxio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Esteve Bastiaro blasted a shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Santo Eudoxio having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristobal Eate in the 33rd minute of play forced FC Schalke 04's goalkeeper Fidel Gonzales to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ezequiel Ciceron recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Cristobal Eate had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

Celestino Viviano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Santo Eudoxio having to interfere. Celestino Viviano's late challenge caught a Viejas del Agua's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Celestino Viviano helped the player get up and apologised. In the 54th match minute, FC Schalke 04 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Celestino Viviano to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to FC Schalke 04 getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Celestino Viviano hit a great ball. If Celestino Viviano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 62nd match minute, Viejas del Agua was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jacobo Larra to maneuver through the defense. Viejas del Agua's Santo Eudoxio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Esteve Bastiaro in the 67th minute of play. In the 71st minute Celestino Viviano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Santo Eudoxio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 73rd minute, Celestino Viviano managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Schalke 04's supporters rose to their feet, but Celestino Viviano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Santo Eudoxio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Cristobal Eate received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Fidel Gonzales tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Celestino Viviano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Santo Eudoxio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Celestino Viviano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Viejas del Agua players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
