After having played for 4 minutes, Justo Gasteiz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tacuarí's supporters crossed their fingers, but Justo Gasteiz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ovidio Edorta got free with Maximo Millrick in the 6th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ovidio Edorta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. A collision led to Tacuarí getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Lucio Bertran hit a great ball. 14 minutes into the match, Ramblones FC's goal looked a bit too open when Celso Quiroga came free, but Teo Ponciano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Edgard Rodas during the 14th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After some careless play in the Tacuarí defense, Ovidio Edorta kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Maximo Millrick. The Tacuarí fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Maximo Millrick should have stopped the shot. Celso Quiroga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Teo Ponciano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Justo Gasteiz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Celso Quiroga in the 32nd minute of play forced Ramblones FC's goalkeeper Teo Ponciano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Celso Quiroga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Teo Ponciano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Ovidio Edorta managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ramblones FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Ovidio Edorta was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Maximo Millrick breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Justo Gasteiz to make the kick off. In the 52nd match minute, Ramblones FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cesar Chus to maneuver through the defense. Justo Gasteiz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Teo Ponciano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 58th minute, Tacuarí's Justo Gasteiz ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Teo Ponciano. Teo Ponciano yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. After 61 minutes, Fidel Monte mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Tacuarí and the Ramblones FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Tacuarí's Fidel Monte got a free kick in the 61st minute. Teo Ponciano didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 66th minute, which inside left pole to 1-2. After some fancy dribbling in the 73rd minute, Ovidio Edorta managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ramblones FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Ovidio Edorta was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ramblones FC's Teo Ponciano proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 93rd minute of the match, managed to save Ramblones FC from getting a goal against them. The Tacuarí supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Tacuarí would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
