Eusebio Gartzea made an important save on a dangerous shot by Teobaldo Egoi in the 3rd minute. If Primitivo Panpili had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 11th minute, Glorioso Vélez Sársfield's Wilfredo Erasto ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Eusebio Gartzea. Eusebio Gartzea yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Glorioso Vélez Sársfield's Remigiusz Banan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ruben Gonzo in the 14th minute of play. Conrado Bermudez's late challenge caught a Godofredo's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Conrado Bermudez helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Glorioso Vélez Sársfield getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Claudio Bizi hit a great ball. In the 32nd minute, Froilan Gilabert hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Higinio Acosta was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 33rd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Teobaldo Egoi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Teobaldo Egoi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Eusebio Gartzea tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 41 played minutes Glorioso Vélez Sársfield got a freekick which was hit by Conrado Bermudez. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Wilfredo Erasto to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Wilfredo Erasto ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Eusebio Gartzea was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. Wilfredo Erasto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Eusebio Gartzea tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Eusebio Gartzea showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wilfredo Erasto, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. Teobaldo Egoi's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Eusebio Gartzea read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 63rd minute of play. Wilfredo Erasto struck a weak shot in the 66th minute. Eusebio Gartzea didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Glorioso Vélez Sársfield. After 67 played minutes Godofredo got a freekick which was hit by Celso Paez. Glorioso Vélez Sársfield were awarded a corner in the 69th minute after Godofredo's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Primitivo Panpili took the corner. After having played for 71 minutes, Teobaldo Egoi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Glorioso Vélez Sársfield's supporters crossed their fingers, but Teobaldo Egoi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 72nd minute, one of Glorioso Vélez Sársfield:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Glorioso Vélez Sársfield. Remigiusz Banan had in the 75thth minute some difficulties stopping Higinio Acosta's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Filiberto Sanson could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 76th minute of the match, but Remigiusz Banan made a huge save. A collision led to Glorioso Vélez Sársfield getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Milton Casco hit a great ball. Filiberto Sanson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Remigiusz Banan having to interfere. Eusebio Gartzea made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wilfredo Erasto in the 84th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Glorioso Vélez Sársfield had won after a very even match.
