After 17 minutes, Celso Paez mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Godofredo and the Imperio Galáctico FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 17 played minutes Godofredo got a freekick which was hit by Celso Paez. Romulo Thomas took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 19th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Eusebio Gartzea. The Godofredo fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Eusebio Gartzea should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jose Mateus in the 43rd minute of play forced Godofredo's goalkeeper Eusebio Gartzea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 47 minutes into the match, Godofredo's goal looked a bit too open when Jose Mateus came free, but Eusebio Gartzea reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
