With an extended leg and a bit of luck Remigiusz Banan prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, Iglesia's Ricardo Confesor got a free kick in the 14th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Iglesia's zone, Teobaldo Egoi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Teodoro Abel came out of the goal and Teobaldo Egoi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 17 minutes into the game, Glorioso Vélez Sársfield's Teobaldo Egoi nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Teodoro Abel made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Wilfredo Erasto received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Teodoro Abel came out and tried to block the shot, but Wilfredo Erasto slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 21st minute. Wilfredo Erasto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Teodoro Abel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Teodoro Abel came out of the goal in the 33rd minute to try and stop a shot by Glorioso Vélez Sársfield's Teobaldo Egoi. But to his dismay, Teobaldo Egoi quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. In the 36th minute, Conrado Bermudez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Teobaldo Egoi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Teodoro Abel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wilfredo Erasto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

Wilfredo Erasto's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Teodoro Abel read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 55th minute of play. Teodoro Abel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wilfredo Erasto in the 58th minute of play. The supporters of Iglesia booed when Glorioso Vélez Sársfield was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Claudio Bizi didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 86th minute the ball was on its way in behind Iglesia's goalkeeper Teodoro Abel, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Conrado Bermudez in the 88th minute of play forced Iglesia's goalkeeper Teodoro Abel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
