When the match had gone on for 5 minutes, Nunez Eleder took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Nestor Quinito to make any attempt to save it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Humberto Barrionuevo in the 10th minute of play forced Deportivo Union Central's goalkeeper Benjamin Lobo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Deportivo Union Central booed when Febre was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fermin Tome didn't get a good kick on the ball. Emilio Quiroga might have been able to make a better finish in the 14th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Nestor Quinito. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Emilio Quiroga ran back to his position shaking his head. Jorge Palben sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice moves Emilio Quiroga could shoot a difficult shot in the 18th minute, which Nestor Quinito however easily saved by the left post. Benjamin Lobo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Domingos Erramun, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 23rd minute, Nunez Eleder had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. 23 minutes into the game, Domingos Erramun was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Febre's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Deportivo Union Central the free kick. In the 24th match minute, Febre was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Domingos Erramun to maneuver through the defense. Cornelio Sengrat charged in rather forcefully in the 30th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cornelio Sengrat the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 30th match minute, Deportivo Union Central was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cornelio Sengrat to maneuver through the defense. 34 minutes into the match, Deportivo Union Central's goal looked a bit too open when Benedicto Suero came free, but Benjamin Lobo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Emilio Quiroga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Febre's Domingos Erramun got a free kick in the 38th minute. In the 43rd minute, Emilio Quiroga got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Humberto Barrionuevo scored 1-1 in the 47th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Benjamin Lobo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Melquiades Estevez made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emilio Quiroga in the 54th minute of play forced Febre's goalkeeper Nestor Quinito to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Edgardo Abilio came up free with the goalie in the 62nd minute, the Deportivo Union Central fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edgardo Abilio couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, Emilio Quiroga managed to get in a good position for a shot. Deportivo Union Central's supporters rose to their feet, but Emilio Quiroga was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nestor Quinito breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 74th minute, Esteve Tancredo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 76th minute Emilio Quiroga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nestor Quinito saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 84th minute, Esteve Tancredo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Deportivo Union Central fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. Nestor Quinito showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edgardo Abilio in the 90th minute of the match. Melquiades Estevez's late challenge caught a Deportivo Union Central's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Melquiades Estevez helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Febre getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Melquiades Estevez hit a great ball. When Emilio Quiroga fell near the penalty area in the 93rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Deportivo Union Central's protests and gave Emilio Quiroga a yellow card for diving instead. Emilio Quiroga kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Emilio Quiroga in the 95th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nestor Quinito saved Febre from getting behind. Deportivo Union Central's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
