The referee ignored Real Córdoba FC's protests and gave Placido Iztal a yellow card for diving instead. After 18 played minutes Real Córdoba FC got a freekick which was hit by Placido Iztal. Nunez Eleder took the ball and in the 21 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Abelardo Barrionuevo. Abelardo Barrionuevo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Abelardo Barrionuevo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jorge Palben, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emilio Quiroga in the 27th minute of play forced Real Córdoba FC's goalkeeper Abelardo Barrionuevo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Benjamin Lobo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Aquilino Montxo in the 29th minute. Emilio Quiroga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute.
