A hard and well directed shot from Jonatan Palos led 9 minutes into the game to a goal after the ball had bounced deceptively just in front of the goal. atletico monteya's Severo Aznaro became a little unsure and couldn't grip the ball before it was over the goalline. Thus it was 0-1. Arturo Lluterio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Frías's Alvaro Gines got control of the ball when Andres Lidon tried to sneak it across the goal line. Arturo Lluterio was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 21st minute. atletico monteya's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. After a defensive mix-up in Frías's zone, Andres Lidon stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alvaro Gines came out of the goal and Andres Lidon tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 25th minute the ball was on its way in behind Frías's goalkeeper Alvaro Gines, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Arturo Lluterio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Frías's Alvaro Gines played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arturo Lluterio in the 29th minute of play. Arturo Lluterio did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-1 to the left of a surprised Alvaro Gines 30 minutes into the match. 34 minutes in the game, Arturo Lluterio fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Alvaro Gines having to interfere. Andres Lidon might have been able to make a better finish in the 36th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Alvaro Gines. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Andres Lidon ran back to his position shaking his head. When the match had gone on for 37 minutes, Arturo Lluterio took a quick shot and it went in 2-1 without a chance for Alvaro Gines to make any attempt to save it. Arturo Lluterio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Alvaro Gines tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Candido Bizen stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 56 minutes, Candido Bizen mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Frías and the atletico monteya players grew even worse after the yellow card. Candido Bizen hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. Arturo Lluterio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. atletico monteya's Severo Aznaro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Candido Bizen in the 63rd minute of play. Severo Aznaro stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Candido Bizen's shot from short distance in the 65th minute. After 71 minutes of play, atletico monteya's Baltasar Erdiano made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Alvaro Gines was left in no man's land by his defense there! Venancio Ursino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Severo Aznaro having to interfere. In the 78th minute, Venancio Ursino ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Severo Aznaro was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-2. When Andres Lidon fell near the penalty area in the 81st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored atletico monteya's protests and gave Andres Lidon a yellow card for diving instead. When Arturo Lluterio came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the atletico monteya fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Arturo Lluterio couldn't finish the play. Andres Lidon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alvaro Gines having to interfere. Alvaro Gines showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arturo Lluterio, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute.
