Flavio Ondino showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nereo Behe in the 18th minute of the match. A-BU-BA's Hector Cordairo got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the match had gone on for 22 minutes, Nereo Behe put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Flavio Ondino. After a defensive mix-up in Pirata FC's zone, Hector Cordairo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Flavio Ondino came out of the goal and Hector Cordairo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nereo Behe in the 39th minute of play forced Pirata FC's goalkeeper Flavio Ondino to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Esteban Ferman to strike the kick off in the second half. Esteban Ferman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out.
