With an extended leg and a bit of luck Clemente Oalo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 21 minutes into the match, Malena's goal looked a bit too open when Gaspar Ihazintu came free, but Primitivo Ascencio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Malena getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Domingo Gaueko hit a great ball. Gaspar Ihazintu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Primitivo Ascencio having to interfere. If Gaspar Ihazintu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alvaro Ezkerra's late challenge caught a Malena's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alvaro Ezkerra helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, gilguero's Alvaro Ezkerra got a free kick in the 36th minute. The supporters of Malena booed when gilguero was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alvaro Ezkerra didn't get a good kick on the ball. Angel Bikendi kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Federico Castulo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The referee ignored gilguero's protests and gave Nicasio Velasco a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, gilguero's Nicasio Velasco got a free kick in the 75th minute. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Malena would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
