The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Patricio Mantzio kicked well hit freekick during the 3rd minute of the match. Salto's Haroldo Heriberto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eugenio Guillelmo in the 7th minute of play. In the 8th minute, Salto's Maximino Sanchez dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. Teodoro Obeko kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. Ranchos's Moises Vitin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Atilano Baristo in the 27th minute of play. 30 minutes into the match, Ranchos's goal looked a bit too open when Atilano Baristo came free, but Moises Vitin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Isidoro Mercurio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 35 minutes, Atilano Baristo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Salto's supporters crossed their fingers, but Atilano Baristo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Salto's Atilano Baristo slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Moises Vitin. That made the score 2-0 after 40 minutes of play. Moises Vitin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Isidoro Mercurio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

In the 52nd minute, Atilano Baristo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 55 minutes of play, Salto's Atilano Baristo made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Moises Vitin was left in no man's land by his defense there! When Eugenio Guillelmo fell near the penalty area in the 57th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ranchos's protests and gave Eugenio Guillelmo a yellow card for diving instead. Eugenio Guillelmo kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. Maximino Sanchez might have been able to make a better finish in the 59th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Moises Vitin. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Maximino Sanchez ran back to his position shaking his head. 59 minutes into the match, Patricio Mantzio had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Moises Vitin. Ranchos's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Patricio Mantzio was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. In the 70th minute, Ranchos's Eugenio Guillelmo ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Haroldo Heriberto. Haroldo Heriberto yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 4-1. The supporters of Ranchos booed when Salto was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Patricio Mantzio didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 80th minute, Narciso Berasko hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Atilano Baristo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Salto's Atilano Baristo got a good chance for a goal in the 91st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Haroldo Heriberto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eugenio Guillelmo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Salto's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
