When Esteve Sazon came up free with the goalie in the 10th minute, the Excellent Era fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Esteve Sazon couldn't finish the play. With his leg Saturnino Cebo managed to avoid a goal in the 11thth minute, when Excellent Era's Esteve Sazon fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After a rather tough play, Herrera's Gavino Estefan got a free kick in the 13th minute. Esteve Sazon kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. If Gustavo Lehior had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 18 minutes into the match, Herrera's goal looked a bit too open when Gavino Cordeal came free, but Saturnino Cebo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpected shot in the 19th minute by Gavino Cordeal got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Augusto Ihintza showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gustavo Lehior, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Gavino Cordeal hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. Gustavo Lehior sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Herrera's zone, Esteve Sazon stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Saturnino Cebo came out of the goal and Esteve Sazon tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Saturnino Cebo made a fantastic save in the 41st minute, when Esteve Sazon sent off a good shot on target. After some fancy dribbling in the 42nd minute, Gavino Cordeal managed to get in a good position for a shot. Excellent Era's supporters rose to their feet, but Gavino Cordeal was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Saturnino Cebo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Gavino Cordeal in the 52nd minute of play forced Herrera's goalkeeper Saturnino Cebo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gustavo Lehior who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 53rdth minute tested the skills of Augusto Ihintza when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 57 minutes into the match, Excellent Era's goal looked a bit too open when Gustavo Lehior came free, but Augusto Ihintza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 59 minutes into the match, Gavino Estefan notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Excellent Era's Augusto Ihintza. The nice shot from Gavino Estefan in the 73rdth minute just in front of the goal should have ended in point on the board, but Augusto Ihintza had a great feel for the game and superbly saved the ball from getting in by the left post. Saturnino Cebo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Esteve Sazon, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. Gavino Estefan's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Augusto Ihintza read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 77th minute of play. After having played for 90 minutes, Esteve Sazon managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Excellent Era's supporters crossed their fingers, but Esteve Sazon was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Herrera had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
