The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Tomas Furtado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Romeo Ladio in the 4th minute of play. In the 9th minute of the match Nicolas Duarte shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Tomas Furtado showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After having played for 24 minutes, Bruno Chico managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. C.S.D Catalina's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bruno Chico was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Tomas Furtado made an important save on a dangerous shot by Romeo Ladio in the 26th minute. Ladislao Lehoi blasted a shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Gogo Ponc having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Omar Hever in the 29th minute of play forced C.S.D Catalina's goalkeeper Gogo Ponc to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bruno Chico fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tomas Furtado having to interfere. In the 43rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Porvenir's goalkeeper Tomas Furtado, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Tomas Furtado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Romeo Ladio in the 44th minute of play. C.S.D Catalina's Gogo Ponc played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Omar Hever in the 45th minute of play. A collision led to C.S.D Catalina getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Ciriaco Tallia hit a great ball. 48 minutes into the match, Ladislao Lehoi notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of C.S.D Catalina's Gogo Ponc. Gogo Ponc was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After the first half Porvenir were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Romeo Ladio to make the kick off. If Romeo Ladio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Romeo Ladio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tomas Furtado having to interfere. After having played for 68 minutes, Romeo Ladio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. In the 79th minute the ball was on its way in behind C.S.D Catalina's goalkeeper Gogo Ponc, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 92 minutes into the game, Leandro Playo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Porvenir's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave C.S.D Catalina the free kick. In the 92nd minute, Leandro Playo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 95th minute C.S.D Catalina were awarded a corner. Arsenio Etxepare went to the cornerflag to take it. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bruno Chico in the 96th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tomas Furtado saved Porvenir from getting behind. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the C.S.D Catalina players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
