Seating: 1655, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Delmar Soin started the match with the kick off. The supporters of Boca Jr booed when Volcán was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. David Lonzo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Emanuel Teodor took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Delmar Soin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Eugenio Araoz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Generoso Duardo having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, Cirilo Cordera managed to get in a good position for a shot. Boca Jr's supporters rose to their feet, but Cirilo Cordera was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Generoso Duardo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cirilo Cordera in the 31st minute of play forced Volcán's goalkeeper Generoso Duardo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Boca Jr's Emanuel Teodor got control of the ball when Donato Tab tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 41 played minutes Volcán got a freekick which was hit by Leandro Leoncio.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Volcán's defense didn't have a chance, in the 62nd minute, when Eugenio Araoz scored to the left of an out of position Generoso Duardo, making the score, 1-1. Boca Jr's Emanuel Teodor played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Delmar Soin in the 65th minute of play. Generoso Duardo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eugenio Araoz, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. Cirilo Cordera sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 74th minute, David Lonzo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Boca Jr eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
