An unexpectedly hard shot by Eugenio Araoz in the 28th minute of play forced Iguazú's goalkeeper Anastasio Madaleno to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cirilo Cordera fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anastasio Madaleno having to interfere. Iguazú's Anastasio Madaleno played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eugenio Araoz in the 30th minute of play. Romulo Oton recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 32nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Emanuel Teodor took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Romulo Oton, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Emanuel Teodor made an important save on a dangerous shot by Modesto Isusko in the 35th minute. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Romulo Oton to make the kick off. 59 minutes into the match, Iguazú's Romulo Oton sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Emanuel Teodor narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After some careless play in the Boca Jr defense, Mateo Ezkerra kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Emanuel Teodor. The Boca Jr fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Emanuel Teodor should have stopped the shot. Eugenio Araoz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 70th minute Romulo Oton shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emanuel Teodor saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 75th minute, one of Iguazú:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Iguazú. Romulo Oton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Romulo Oton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Emanuel Teodor tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Iguazú's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
